Te Tai Pari 2025 Distribution
March 20, 2025As is required by the Te Tai Pari Terms of Reference, appointments have been made by the NPDC to the Board.
Julie Straka (Manager Governance at the NPDC) said that the NPDC had listened to feedback that impressed the importance of having a balance of continuity and rotation among its Board members.
Having served three years as Chairperson, Darrel Nicholas was not eligible for reelection as Chairperson, in accordance with the Terms of Reference.
Current Board members Graham Armstrong and Marion James have been reappointed for one and two years respectively, while previous alternate member Dave Haskell has been appointed for a three-year term.
Che Tamati becomes the new NPDC alternate member.
Straka said that she had been delighted with the number and quality of the applications, which had gone through a robust selection process. She also paid tribute to outgoing chair Darrel Nicholas. “Darrel has played an important role leading the Board in developing systems and structures, engaging with the community, and generally lifting the profile and performance of Te Tai Pari. We thank him for this.”
The NPDC appointees join the existing Te Kōwhatu Tu Moana appointees Patsy Bodger, Donna Eriwata, Mawhaturia White and Rawiri Doorbar (alternate), who were re-appointed to their positions earlier.
The Te Tai Pari Chairperson will be appointed at the Board’s next meeting on 1 September 2025.
